Chris Hayden, a Hudson Valley native and graduate of the University at Buffalo, founded the NeighborHerd in 2015.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Chris worked on an Austrian farm for four years, where he found his passion for farming. After returning to the United States, Chris put his dream on hold for a career in banking, with the intention of purchasing a farm in the future.
In 2010, Chris purchased a 99-acre farm in Columbia County, New York, and the framework for the NeighborHerd began. The farm was intended for raising grass-fed cattle, and keeping the cattle natural, with no added hormones or antibiotics. Through the NeighborHerd, Chris has been bringing high-quality food to local school districts & the surrounding community.
When he is not devoting his time to the NeighborHerd, Chris still works in banking, and spends time with his family, who also assist in operating the farm.
